Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD)
Is a term that has recently replaced the terms “Sociopath,” and “Psychopath.” ASPD is a personality disorder that is characterized by impulsiveness, recklessness, hostile and often aggressive behavior, little to no regard for the law, and oftentimes abuse and torture of animals or other people. Often times Antisocial Personality Disordered people tend to have not only anti-societal behavior, but are often anti-social in that they are “loners.” In order for this diagnosis to be made, conduct disorders before the age of 15 need to be present.
A person can be dually diagnosed with multiple disorders, such as Narcissistic Personality Disorder(NPD) and Bipolar, or NPD and ASPD, however, because NPD, and ASPD are both “Cluster B” personality disorders, many of the traits overlap, and a person generally leans into one of the personality disorders more so than the others, if a dual diagnosis within the same cluster is given.
My goal is to educate, empower, and inspire other abuse victims in understanding more about what happened to them (and how to prevent it from happening again), as well as how to go on and rebuild an amazing life.
Even though I have had a lot of "in the trenches" experience with highly manipulative people of all kinds, I consider myself to be a student of Narcissism, mindset, motivation, healing, and life in general, and am by no means an expert on any of these topics.
It's for these reasons, that when you are reading my information that I encourage you to hold to what helps, and let the rest go.
